The Intense Training has Begun.....well sort of.

Hey to all my readers!!

Amnesty International

I believe from now until the climb I will write a little something about my training (or lack of) and my latest fundraising schemes! In the last few months life has been full of changes and sitting in Melbourne on a Sunday morning drinking tea and eating mushrooms, I think these changes have been for the best, but have made this fundraising so much more of a challenge as all my support systems and contacts are back on the sunny Coast living it up!

Well I have been home a billion times since moving here and was able to put on a Trivia Night with April and Laura where we raised over $1500 which was excellent for a first fundraiser. However a little lower then what we were hoping for. However I want to thank all those people who came out and brought into the raffles and bribed us for answers. If was a fun night for us, I hope it was for you guys to!

A few weekends ago with the help of my Mother, Kirsten and Elise I hosted a small high tea at the four winds. It was a lovely afternoon and so many people who I have never met came along and supported me. It was such a blessing. I raised over $600, with everything being donated. Here are some pictures to show those who were not there how it turned out!

Note to all those people out there who likes tea. Kirsten makes a mean cup, so befriend her and she'll make you tea and feed you chocolate.

So this whole thing of training for a giant hike, sort is a bit of a buzz kill. I read on these site that to train for a hike like Kilimanjaro you need to start training two months prior! I was so excited because I am still in the two months window and I am not completely screwed!

So I have been walking, biking and going to the gym, trying not to eat badly, but sometimes the chips and chocolate win. Also I baked a slice yesterday and that will also win. But I have purchased my boots, an amazing sale. $280 half price $140, we thought awesome they are so cheap and then they were red ticketed which meant half price again...$70. There is skill in bargain shopping.

That is all for now, more later about the boots and training.
